A Place To Call Home

Description

A Place To Call Home (APTCH) is a Housing Support and Support Services project operated by the Aboriginal Health and Wellness Center. This project employs the Housing First approach, emphasizing rapid placement in housing without preconditions, as a core strategy to address homelessness.

APTCH integrates traditional Indigenous healing practices symbolized by the Medicine Wheel with Western methods of care, grounding its services in a philosophy that respects and incorporates holistic, culturallyinformed frameworks. This blend of traditions and modern practices aims to create a supportive environment that respects the cultural identities of its participants.

The services offered by A Place To Call Home include a harm reduction approach and intensive case management, tailored to meet the unique needs of its constituents. By providing a comprehensive suite of services within a culturally sensitive framework, APTCH effectively supports individuals in achieving stability and wellness, aligning with its commitment to fostering lasting positive change in the lives of those it serves.
