West Central Women's Resource Centre's (WCWRC) Gender-Based Continuum of Housing Supports project provides housing supports, prevention services, and support services to women, two-spirit and gender non-conforming people who are experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness. Their housing attainment program offers two streams: More Than Four Walls and H.O.M.E.S. The More Than Four Walls program utilizes the Housing First Model and provides an Intensive Case Management approach to assist individuals obtain and maintain permanent housing. Participants who are ineligible for More Than Four Walls and who require housing and income assistance are supported through WCWRC's H.O.M.E.S program.
More Than Four Walls participants receive weekly home visits to address any potential issues that could impact their housing security. Participants in both programs are supported to establish, and implement individualized goals and action plans, with a primary focus on housing stability moving towards independence.
Both programs also offer individualized life skills coaching and referrals to internal and external resources to address the needs of participants as identified in their individualized action plans and goals. This includes participant needs related to employment, education, and training assistance, social and community integration, clinical and treatment services, and essential needs.
