Housing and Supports with System Navigator

Description

This Non-Housing First Project offers housing placement (outside of Housing First), economic, social and community integration services to women, women with children and transgendered women who are chronically or episodically homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless. North End Women's Centre will also house their Community Members with 8 low barrier and harm reduction-based transitional housing beds with a focus on basic needs as well as healing through connection to culture and identity for ages 18 to 65+.

NEWC will expand its housing supports services to include an additional system navigator who will focus on establishing stronger community connections with partnering agencies, create a case management model strengthening staff skills to better support community members entering into detox, exiting domestic violence situations and exiting corrections ensuring access to external resources as needed.
