Supporting and Enhancing Homelessness Services, operated by Oyate Tipi Cumini, provides essential furniture and household items to individuals and families transitioning into or maintaining stable housing. With pest-free donations, a nationwide furniture network, and a local pickup service, the project addresses furniture poverty, reducing the stress associated with housing transitions.
The program also offers temporary storage for individuals in crises such as fleeing domestic violence or transitioning from the justice system, ensuring belongings are preserved and financial hardships minimized. Collaboration with community agencies supports referrals and Housing First participants, enhancing access to critical resources.
Each year, the project supplies furniture to over 500 households and builds or sources 1,000 beds, working to reduce homelessness, prevent housing instability, and improve the overall well-being of vulnerable populations.
