The Tenant Landlord Cooperation (TLC), operated by the North End Community Renewal Corporation (NECRC), is a Prevention/Shelter Diversion project that addresses common issues faced by tenants and landlords. Funded by End Homelessness Winnipeg's Reaching Home program, TLC offers crucial advocacy services to ensure both parties understand their rights and responsibilities, enhancing mutual respect and communication.
TLC assists in resolving disputes by responding to damage claims, liaising effectively with the Residential Tenancy Branch, and conducting property inspections to ensure tenants live in adequate conditions. These activities not only uphold housing standards but also prevent potential conflicts that could lead to evictions and homelessness.
The program's advocacy efforts are particularly focused on preventing tenant displacement and supporting those at risk of homelessness in securing safe housing. By doing so, TLC plays a vital role in promoting housing stability and improving the quality of life within the community, benefiting both tenants and landlords by fostering a more stable and supportive living environment.
