End Homelessness Winnipeg was established in 2015 as the city's backbone organization for ending homelessness.

It grew from a community call for coordinated action and has been guided from the beginning by Indigenous leadership and the belief that every person deserves safety, dignity and home. In 2020, the organization became fully Indigenous-led, affirming its commitment to reconciliation and to solutions rooted in lived experience.

Since then, End Homelessness Winnipeg has worked with direct service agencies serving people experiencing homelessness, Indigenous partners, housing providers and all levels of government to build a more coordinated response. This has included improvements in system navigation, extreme weather care, emergency responses, access to culturally grounded services and supports that help people move from crisis to housing stability.

End Homelessness Winnipeg is now guided by its new five-year strategic plan, Everyone Belongs.

The plan sets a clear direction forward: strengthen Indigenous leadership, expand coordinated access, improve data and shared learning, and advance housing and support systems that meet real community need.

Building change through partnership, respect and practical action, End Homelessness Winnipeg is moving forward with a clear purpose: A Winnipeg where everyone has a home and a place to belong.

Our Mandate

Where do we come from?

End Homelessness Winnipeg was created in response to a vital need in our city by a collective of organizations acting with urgency and intention. Their original vision was a way to address houselessness rooted in collective impact.

What do we do?

For over a decade, EHW has brought together the houselessness-serving sector to provide leadership, support, and coordination to collectively end houselessness in Winnipeg. EHW is an Indigenous organization that serves the whole community.

What is our purpose?

To end chronic houselessness by braiding together diverse partners-with their different resources, perspectives, experiences, and ideas-into a cohesive whole made stronger through a renewed focus on supporting the collaborative efforts of the sector.

Where are we going?

To further evolve EHW into an impactful, community-informed, reciprocal organization that both supports and relies upon this entire network to end chronic houselessness.
