Person-centered support plays a central role in implementing Winnipeg's new Strategic Plan: Everyone Belongs and the Reaching Home Community Plan. Through backbone support for key committees-including the Emergency Response and Extreme Weather Committees, and the Gizhe Waa Ti-Si-Win Service Delivery Expo, the team works to strengthen crisis response efforts, improve access to essential services, and ensure culturally proficient support, particularly for Indigenous community members.
Vital to its work is to lead coordination with outreach networks and community organizations within the sector, while proactively responding to crises like evictions and service shutdowns. Through cross-sector collaboration, community education, and systems advocacy, we reduce stigma, close service gaps, and align efforts across all levels of government. Our work is grounded in the principle that lasting solutions to homelessness must begin with care, compassion, and a commitment to the dignity and agency of every individual.
